The pen is handcrafted over a natural wood core using repeated layers of natural lacquer, carefully cured and hand-polished to create depth, gloss, and a smooth, dimensional finish.
Vietnamese lacquer, known as sơn ta or laccol, is a natural tree-resin lacquer valued for its distinctive depth, flexibility, and warm sheen. Its slower curing process allows the material to develop a rich sense of depth and character, creating a finish with an enduring beauty that distinguishes Vietnamese lacquer from other traditional lacquer techniques.
Small mother-of-pearl accents add cool flashes of iridescence against the fiery red patterning. The contrast between black lacquer, crimson movement, and shifting shell gives Pyre a dramatic character while preserving the refined finish of traditional lacquer work.
