Vietnamese lacquer, known as sơn ta or laccol, is a natural tree-resin lacquer valued for its distinctive depth, flexibility, and warm sheen. Its slower curing process allows the material to develop a rich sense of depth and character, creating a finish with an enduring beauty that distinguishes Vietnamese lacquer from other traditional lacquer techniques.

The shell inlays shift through blue, green, violet, and silver tones, creating the impression of light moving across dark water. The result is a refined, modern design that highlights both the natural beauty of mother-of-pearl and the visual depth of Vietnamese lacquer.
