The Inferno Fountain Pen presents an intense, fire-inspired design, pairing deep black Vietnamese lacquer with bold crimson veining and scattered mother-of-pearl accents. Built over a natural wood core, the lacquer finish is created through multiple hand-applied layers, carefully cured and polished to build a smooth, dimensional surface.
Vietnamese lacquer, known as sơn ta or laccol, is a natural tree-resin lacquer valued for its distinctive depth, flexibility, and warm sheen. Its slower curing process allows the material to develop a rich sense of depth and character, creating a finish with an enduring beauty that distinguishes Vietnamese lacquer from other traditional lacquer techniques.
The red patterning appears to move beneath the lacquer like molten lava, while the shell fragments flash with blue, green, and violet tones. This combination gives Inferno a strong visual presence while preserving the organic individuality of handcrafted lacquer.
