The Aurora 2 Fountain Pen offers a bolder interpretation of the aurora, with dense clusters of vertical mother-of-pearl set against deep black Vietnamese lacquer. Built over a natural wood core, the pen is finished through repeated lacquer applications, controlled curing, and careful hand-polishing to create a rich, glossy surface.

Vietnamese lacquer, known as sơn ta or laccol, is a natural tree-resin lacquer valued for its distinctive depth, flexibility, and warm sheen. Its slower curing process allows the material to develop a rich sense of depth and character, creating a finish with an enduring beauty that distinguishes Vietnamese lacquer from other traditional lacquer techniques.

The concentrated shell inlay creates the impression of curtains of light emerging from darkness. Because each shell fragment varies naturally in color and reflectivity, every Aurora 2 has its own distinctive pattern and luminous character.
