Collection: Blackwing

Blackwing pencils have inspired award-winning creators for nearly a century. First introduced in the 1930s by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company, the original Blackwing 602 became a favorite of writers, animators, and musicians—including John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones. Known for its smooth graphite core and distinctive square eraser, the Blackwing 602 earned a cult following before being discontinued in 1998.

In 2010, Blackwing was revived by Palomino, a company with deep roots in premium pencil making. Today, Blackwing offers a full line of writing tools designed to encourage creativity and slow living. The collection includes four core pencil models—Matte, Pearl, Natural, and the 602—each crafted from California incense-cedar and premium Japanese graphite.

Blackwing also supports the arts through its Blackwing Foundation and creative initiatives like Blackwing Music. Whether you're writing, sketching, or planning, Blackwing helps reconnect you to the tactile joy of analog tools.
