This pen is even more beautiful in person. The pink flecks amongst the red in the acrylic give the pen depth and chatoyance, and the rose-gold trim complements the overall colour scheme. Some reviewers have said that the design is reminiscent of dragon fire (Draco = dragon), but I personally see rose petals. Maybe it's a Rorschach thing. The Draco is most like the TWSBI Diamond 580 in that both pens are piston fillers which can be completely disassembled for cleaning, have a similar sturdy weight, and write in the same fashion as they use the same Jowo-made nibs. The Draco is a tad larger in girth than the Diamond 580, although still comfortable to use even with smaller hands (like mine). I was a bit worried that the Draco's grip would be slippery, but the acrylic isn't slippery at all, and the grip also has a slight flare at the bottom. If you like the Diamond 580, you'll like the Draco. Even if you've never owned a TWSBI pen, I'd still recommend the Draco as TWSBI makes such reliable writers, and this limited edition Draco is a beauty. Also very enjoyable purchasing experience from Dromgoole's again!
