The Sailor Professional Gear King of Pen Midnight Sky Fountain Pen, is inspired by The Pillow by Sei Shonagon. As the first of the The Pillow series, the Sailor Pen Company presents a navy blue resin body with rhodium-plated accents. The color is representative of a passage in her book in which Shônagon describes joy in looking at the midnight sky with dancing fireflies, enamored with its beauty. 

As with all of the Sailor's Professional Gear fountain pens, the flat-top cap screws on and can be posted while writing. The King of Pen model includes 21K rhodium-plated nib available in Medium and Broad.

Included with the pen are a gift box, 2 Sailor proprietary Black ink cartridges and a converter.

The Pillow Book

Now considered a literary classic written in the early 1000s by Sei Shonagon, the book contains an array of essays, anecdotes, poems and passages that were for her eyes only. As a member of the lower court, these writings express her personal thoughts in any given moment of her daily life - a journal. If not for her accidentally leaving her book on a pillow, the world may have never been able to enjoy her writing and the innocent insight of an individual during that period.
