Private Reserve Bottled Ink is now part of the Monteverde Family. Using the original formulas, you will find that Dakota Red is a dark, highly saturated medium red.
Known for a fountain pen ink that is pH neutral, has excellent coverage, smooth flow, vibrant colors, won't clog, fast drying, and reasonably priced.

This is a review of the new Monteverde incarnation of Private Reserve's Dakota Red ink. First off, the new bottle was chosen by some demented microzoologist that ran out of petri dishes for his pet mold spores. Yes, Monteverde put this ink in a WIDER MOUTH BOTTLE than even the former owner chose to use which was a factor in the SITB issue that plagued the company. Some folks never learn. But the ink...what about the ink? Another degree of saturation to my eye...and I approve! And yes, drying time a bit more extended too. Will it smear? Just like Pelosi does Trump. But you knew that when you heard "saturated". Goes on smoothly, no bleeding using a 1.1 mm stub. If you liked the Dakota Red of the past you should be happy with the new deeper red version (although not with the bottle).
