The Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania Collection celebrates the pioneering spirit of Montblanc. Reinterpreting the writing instrument, it features a longer, slimmer silhouette and craftsmanship refined over generations. With its octagonal shape, this writing instrument is reminiscent of the octagonal-shaped writing instruments designed by Montblanc in the 1920's, which included Egyptian-style engravings: so-called "Egyptian pens". Created in black precious resin, it features "Montblanc" on the barrel in Egyptian hieroglyphics, and a scarab beetle on the clip.

This ballpoint is a very pleasant surprise from Montblanc. Although it has eight flat sides, the thickness of the pen makes it very comfortable to hold. It is slightly heavier than expected for a resin pen due to complete metal construction on the interior. This also produces the sturdiest Montblanc ballpoint I have seen. The surprise is the button activation, rather than twist, unique among recent Montblanc ballpoints. It is altogether a wonderful writing instrument at a price comparable to other special edition Montblanc pens, making it the one to buy.
